Do you think the St. Louis Rams regret the Robert Griffin III trade? They beat RG3 in his second professional game, but the true value of the trade was shown this past weekend when the Rams shutout the Redskins 24-0 in a game that RG3 didn’t even start.
When the Redskins traded three first round picks and a second round pick for Robert Griffin III, everyone thought that was a steep price to pay for an unproven quarterback. But if RG3 led the Redskins to the playoffs, like he did in his first year on the team, then those wouldn’t be high draft picks and RG3 would obviously be worth it.
Three years later, he clearly isn’t worth it to the Redskins.
The Rams ended up using their haul from the trade to parlay things into even more draft picks, eventually ending up with Greg Robinson, Alec Ogletree, Stedman Bailey, Zac Stacy, Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Isaiah Pead and Rokevious Watkins.
Jenkins, Brockers, Stacy, Bailey, Robinson, Ogletree are the six active players on the Rams roster and were out for the coin toss during this past weekend’s Redskins/Rams game. After dispatching of the Redskins on Sunday, the Rams sit at 6-7 but have the misfortunate of being in a tough division and have yet to figure out their quarterback situation due to Sam Bradford’s body being made of glass going up against the rocks that are defensive players in the NFL.
The Redskins on the other hand are 3-10n and on the verge of getting rid of RG3 by any means necessary. Whether they cut him or release him remains to be seen, but it certainly seems that he or first year head coach Jay Gruden are on the way out. If it’s Gruden who goes, that would mean a third head coach in four years for RG3. In the NBA guys like that are called “coach killers.”
The Redskins are probably best off just keeping RG3 at this point as he’ll be a free agent after next season, he’s due a ton of guaranteed money, and he has no trade value. If they end up dealing him for a 4th round pick, they’d be the laughing stock of the league as they would’ve traded three first round picks and a second round pick for a fourth round pick. Even worse, if he actually works out for the team they deal him to, they’ll have an entire Denny’s diner on their face. I’d give RG3 one more year just to see if he can return to his rookie form. If he can, then you’ve got your quarterback. If he can’t you let him go and live with the fact that you made one of the dumbest trades in NFL history.
1. St. Louis Rams Defense
Alright, so they were playing the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins, but it’s still very impressive to post back-to-back shut outs in the NFL.
2. Le’Veon Bell
The Steelers needed a win in Cincinnati and got it thanks to the help of Bell and his 185 yards and two touchdowns.
3. Jets vs. Vikings
This game meant nothing since neither team is making the playoffs, but it was hilariously awesome for four quarters and a couple of drives in overtime. Leave it to the Jets to make uninteresting things interesting.
4. Clutch Luck
Andrew Luck didn’t have a great game on Sunday, but when the Colts needed him the most, he led them down the field for a game-winning touchdown.
5. Cowboys Winning Season
Congrats Dallas, you won’t be going 8-8 this year.
6. Rookie WR Class
Mike Evans caught two touchdowns, Odell Beckham Jr. had 130 yards and a touchdown, Kelvin Benjamin caught a touchdown, and Sammy Watkins had 127 yards. It’s a shame all these guys are on shitty teams.
7. C.J. Anderson
He only had 58 yards on 21carries for an average of 2.8 yards per carry. But he also had three touchdowns. And points are what matter.
8. The INT Battle
We’re coming to down the wire. Blake Bortles still leads, but Jay Cutler is hot on his heels.
9. Arian Foster
Foster ran for 127 yards and a touchdown against the terrible Jaguars defense.
10. Teams Who Want To Hire Jim Harbaugh
Get your pitches ready because he’s 100% out after losing to Oakland.
20. Marshall/Cutler Rift
One of them will be gone after this season. I’d bet on Cutler.
32. Geno Smith
As long as he continues to start, this spot will remain is. He actually wasn’t all that bad this week though.
100. Saints At Home
Remember when the Saints couldn’t lose in New Orleans? Well now they’ve lost four straight in the Superdome.

Lewis called Manziel a midget. It’s going to suck for Lewis and the Bengals when that midget beats them.
